Parent Survey - Parent Teacher Meetings

Findings:

 Over 60% of parents responded to our questionnaires

 100% of returns indicated:

 ·         that the interview was useful and informative

·         there was a two way communication between Teacher and Parent

·         the teacher commented on the child’s strengths and weaknesses

 Many parents provided additional comments. Some of these include: 

• Hoping it happens every term!!
• The teacher was very friendly making me feel at ease
• I was taken on time – first time ever! I really appreciated this. The teacher was organised and came across as feeling that the pupils were at the centre of her day- She has a genuine interest in children
• The teacher had prepared very well for interviews having completed a progress statement against relevant subjects. This was very informative.
• I found the interview very enjoyable and interesting. The teacher made it very positive. She made me feel comfortable in discussing my child.
• The teacher’s professional manner made the interview process a very pleasant one
• Useful having parent teacher interviews early in year
• Very open and honest- Kept to the point and time- Excellent
• I found the interview most informative. Gave good reassurance of my child’s progress and highlighted areas which required extra attention

• More time should be given – 10 minutes is not enough time
• Evening appointments would suit some parents
• Difficulty for working parents to have access to the grid
