Where are we?

The snowy weather inspired P6W to write snow poems. We used our five senses to help develop ideas.

We hope you enjoy reading them!

Snow time!

Snow is the colour of clouds drifting by,

Snow tastes like melting vanilla ice cream,

Snow smells like gentle white musk,

Snow looks like gleaming diamond earrings,

Snow sounds like soothing music,

Snow feels like fluffy, soft cotton wool.

By Ben McCandless & Lauren Dalrymple

SNOWSHOWERS

Snow is as white as a blank sheet of paper,

Snow tastes of plain fairy cakes,

Snow smells like fresh cotton sheets,

It looks like a white rose that has just grown,

It sounds like a crisp, crunching in your mouth,

It feels like an ice cube melting in your hand.

By Lauren W and Laura C

 SNOWBALL

Snow is like the white fluffy clouds that float above us,

It tastes like a freezing, cold ice-cream on a summers day,

Snow smells like foam from a bubbly bath,

It looks like a white sheet of paper that it completely blank,

Snow sounds like people crunching on some crisps,

It feels like a soft, cuddly teddy bear.

By Laura and Sophie

The Senses Of Snow

Snow is whiter than a flock of sheep,

It tastes like fresh water and crisps crackling on your tongue,

Snow smells like fresh water out of the tap,

Snow looks like a brand new quilt,

Walking on snow sounds like someone eating crisps,

It feels like a scarf swaying across your face.

By Mark & Andrew

 The Big Soft Pillow

Snow is whiter than a cosy, soft blanket,

Snow tastes like water pouring out of an icy cold jug ,

Snow smells like cotton fresh out of the wash ,

It looks like a cosy, white blanket falling off my bed,

It sounds like a chain–saw sawing through heavy wood,

The snow feels like a pillow of lovely soft feathers.

 By Rebecca and Mitchell

 Winter Wonderland

Snow is the colour of a newborn lamb,

It tastes like an ice cream melting in your mouth,

Snow smells like the lovely scent of lavender.

Snow looks as white as a wedding dress,

It sounds like a choir of beautiful singers,

Snow feels as soft as pure white silk.

By Sarah & Kirsty Mc Dowell

Snow

Snow is as white as a sheep’s woolly coat,

It tastes like vanilla ice cream that has just come out of the freezer,

It smells like the fresh, newly cut grass,

It looks like the candyfloss you get at the circus,

It sounds like a person crunching and chewing at crisps,

It feels like popcorn erupting in your hand.
